We’re back on “The 1225” talking about the design of a hub and spoke location for whitetail. The basic premise behind a hub and spoke is having a stand location as the hub with multiple food sources acting as the spokes extending out from the central hub. The design will naturally encourage deer movement better versus a wide open food source where whitetail can enter in one corner and simply see across. With native grasses blocking visibility, a buck will have to travel from one spoke to the next to see if there are any does. An important piece to this design, just as any hunting location, will be cover around the blind for easy entry/exit without spooking what whitetail may be in the spokes.
