After a slow start to the 2021 whitetail season, things quickly changed on Halloween for Casey. Many of the mature deer from last season were gone from the farms Casey hunts. The one spot he had a mature deer doing things worth hunting was a pocket on his in-law’s farm. With the right wind, he climbed into it on October 31st, and the last deer he though he’d ever see was slipping through the brush. After a snort/wheeze/rattle sequence the largest deer of Casey’s life was headed right to his tree.
