Bowhunting
Hunting small acreage land requires patience in knowing when and where to hunt. Too much pressure and your season can be ruined quickly. This week, Casey takes you through the first part of his bowhunting season. Through carefully selecting times to hunt, he’s able to maximize his efforts in chasing the mature deer on the farm. It is important to minimize the pressure you put on your farm so you haven’t educated all of the deer by the time the rut kicks in. Checking cameras only when going in to hunt and selecting locations on the fringes of the farm are great ways to ensure you limit the knowledge gained by deer on your property. Utilizing these practices, Casey saw a good number of deer on the food plots through October and even a few great young deer that will definitely be ones to go after in years to come.
