With rain in the forecast, it was time to get the food plots in the ground in Alabama as deer season approaches. This year, we used the new Firminator RT. The difference between this new model and the older ones is a rototiller instead of adjustable gang discs. In one pass, the ground gets tilled, seed gets planted, and cultipacked leaving a perfect seed bed.

We combined some Pennington Durana Clover into the fall mix, Feeding Frenzy. The Feeding Frenzy will act as a cover crop to allow the clover to get established and come next spring it will take over leaving a perennial food plot. This one acre plot is surrounded by bedding and has easy access to a Redneck Blind. All we need is a little rain shower and it’ll be all set!
