There is no one size fits all script to planting and hunting a food plot. Each specific location has it’s own story. You can simply plant one, hang a stand and head out deer hunting over it, but it will never reach it’s full potential until you see how deer utilize it and strategize accordingly.
After the first year of the plot on Casey’s In-Laws farm he had a few things he wanted to change despite the success hunting it last deer season. It was nothing drastic, just small manipulations to maximize the hunting potential of a food plot on a small farm. These subtle changes paid off in a big way this past year in Illinois.
