The story of a deer season is rarely quick. It takes careful planning, playing the weather, and waiting for the right time. As Casey’s 2018 season progressed, it wasn’t a matter of seeing deer, it was seeing mature deer. His hunts were filled with sightings of plenty of great up and coming deer, but the mature deer he had on his Moultrie’s just weren’t showing up in daylight.

As luck would have it, on November 2 a new deer showed up. This deer was doing a lot of the same things as the mature deer Casey shot last year, Charlie Brown. The chess match began and finally everything lined up during the Illinois gun season!
