Hunting is Jody’s addiction! Habitat Management is his passion! His goal in life was to be a “wetland biologist”. All he has ever really known is the outdoors and trying to learn more about wildlife management. He grew up on a small farm in southern Arkansas. Management was in Jody’s blood. Both of his grandfathers had family farms and after they passed away he and his parents took over management of the farms. Jody remembers growing his first deer food plot on the family farm when he was thirteen years old. Being able to see the wildlife respond to the management practices excited him. That is what drives Jody, learning more and trying new management practices…the wildlife response! Last season was his 22nd year as a Waterfowl Guide. In 2005, he and George Dunklin Jr. started a company named Five Oaks Wildlife Services, LLC. Jody has personally worked on 121 clubs across the country with an additional 225,000 impacted through restoration and management consultation. He is closing in on 500,000 acres of positive waterfowl habitat enhancement and management. Jody’s goal is 1 millions acres before he dies. Most folks think he has the dream job! Guiding is hard work, but nothing makes me happier than seeing happy hunters after a successful hunt, a little kid smiling after harvesting their first bird, or a landowner following the management plan and having a successful season! He’s all about the DUCKS!
