Last month we followed Tom on the start of a habitat project at his family farm. He’s taking 17 acres of production ag and converting it into a mixture of mast producing trees, food plots, and warm season grasses. It all started with putting trees in the ground and now in “Phase 2” the food plots are being planted. Some of the plots are strictly clover that will provide food, but also fire breaks when it comes time to burn the warm season grasses. The second variety of plots are being planted in Pennington’s new Dual Season. This is just the second step in what will soon become incredible whitetail habitat for years to come.
