All In A Day’s Work

Casey Shoopman, producer/editor of The Management Advantage has had a first hand education in wildlife management over the course of 8 years of working for The Management Advantage. The past few years he has been putting this education to use through property enhancements. He has been planting food plots for deer management for a long time, but recently he has started working more on providing cover for whitetail on his family farm rather than food. With the farm located in Illinois, food is in abundance, but the piece of the puzzle his farm is missing is cover. Through carefully planned herbicide applications, controlled burning, and proper planting techniques he has quickly began providing more cover on his farm with over a dozen acres of Switchgrass.  The Switchgrass he has planted is providing cover to help hold deer on his property by providing them with cover where they feel safe.
